Apprentice of the month - May

03 Jun 2026

Thomas is currently studying towards the Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating and was enrolled by his employer after a recommendation from their manager, who previously trained with OEA.

Thomas shared:

“My experience so far at OEA has been both enjoyable and productive, working through core plumbing principles while building a comprehensive portfolio.”

A standout aspect of Thomas’s training has been access to OEA’s workshop facilities, which have provided valuable hands-on experience with tasks and scenarios he might not typically encounter on site. His employer, WTM Plumbing Ltd, is already familiar with OEA, as one of the co-owners also completed their training there.

Tutor Jake shared: “Thomas continues to make excellent progress and demonstrate a strong commitment to his development. He is exceeding deadlines that were set for his second year in his eighth month on programme, and he continuously impresses us with his knowledge in the classroom. A deserving winner!”

Thomas said: “It’s nice to be recognised for doing decent work. I would highly recommend OEA to others and encourage anyone considering a career in energy skills to pursue it.”

We would also like to extend our thanks to Screwfix – Witney for their continued sponsorship of the apprentice of the month award, and to Slice Mate for providing a fantastic monthly prize for our nominated learner.

Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!
