Information
The Accredited Certification Scheme for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS) is the industry recognised route for engineers to gain a certificate of competence, which is needed to become a member of the Gas Safe Register. Only members of the Gas Safe Register can work with gas in the UK.
You need to achieve your ACS certificate(s) in the areas of work in which you want to be registered.
REGT1 certification is designed to assess the competence of a gas engineer to install, exchange, remove & commission domestic medium pressure meter regulators and controls.
Areas covered:
- Gas safety regulations and other relevant legislation
- Checking the installation site
- Suitability of the housing
- The gas connection and regulator
- Securing the regulator correctly
- Ventilation requirements
- Tightness testing
- Operating pressures
- Lock up, pressure relief and slam shut settings
- Commissioning and testing the installation
- Labelling the meter
Entry requirements
Learners will need to hold a valid:
- Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) certificate (including CPA1); or
- Specific Core for Domestic Meter Installers (Natural Gas) (CMA1) certificate; or
- Specific Limited Scope Core for Meter Installers (Natural Gas) (CMA2LS) certificate; or
- Gas Safety in Core Domestic Metering Work (CMA3) certificate
Learners will also need valid Domestic Gas Meters (MET1/2 or MET3LS) certificates.
Details
You will need to bring with you:
- Your name and address
- Your National Insurance number
- A passport-sized photograph
- Copies of relevant qualifications and/or evidence of work experience
- A declaration of the category for the individual making the application
- First-time applicants will also be required to provide an acceptable form of photographic identification e.g. a passport or driving licence
