BPEC has developed this course in conjunction with MCS. The course is specifically aimed at existing practicing electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspection and testing and giving them the necessary training to upskill their existing skills to install small-scale electrical energy (battery) storage systems.

The course has been structured to meet the requirements of dedicated electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standards MIS 3012.

Entry requirements

Learners must be practicing electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspection and testing.

  • Copies of relevant qualifications and/or evidence of work experience
  • A declaration of the category for the individual making the application
  • First-time applicants will also be required to provide an acceptable form of photographic identification e.g. a passport or driving licence
