This course is designed for those looking to become a qualified and competent PAT Tester. It provides support to develop the relevant skills required to carry out the testing of all types of electrical equipment.

It covers the legal requirements and relevant standards, the types of tests and test equipment, the results and the recording of results.

The course is suitable for a range of learners, including electricians, tradesmen, staff in companies wishing to conduct their own PAT testing and landlords.

Entry requirements

This course is open to all learners, but existing electrical knowledge is preferable

You will need to bring with you:

  • Your name and address
  • Your National Insurance number
  • A passport-sized photograph
  • Copies of relevant qualifications and/or evidence of work experience
  • A declaration of the category for the individual making the application
  • First-time applicants will also be required to provide an acceptable form of photographic identification e.g. a passport or driving licence
