The Accredited Certification Scheme for Individual Gas Fitting Operatives (ACS) is the industry recognised route for engineers to gain a certificate of competence, which is needed to become a member of the Gas Safe Register. Only members of the Gas Safe Register can work with gas in the UK.
You need to achieve your ACS certificate(s) in the areas of work in which you want to be registered.
CoNGLP1-CMC covers what you will need to upgrade your existing CoNGLP1 qualification in order that you might install, service and repair LPG appliances fitted in commercial mobile catering settings.
Areas covered:
- Gas safety regulations and other relevant legislation
- Combustion
- Ventilation
- Flueing
- Gas pipework
- Tightness testing
- Purging
- Re-establishing gas supplies
- Gas rates & pressures
- Gas controls
- Emergency actions and valves
- Unsafe situations
Entry requirements
Learners will need to hold a valid:
- Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) certificate); and
- Changeover: Core Domestic to Commercial Catering Gas Safety (CODC1) certificate; and
- Commercial Catering Appliances (COMCAT1/2/3) certificate(s); and
- LPG Changeover for Permanent Dwellings (CoNGLP1-PD) certificate
Details
You will need to bring with you:
- Your name and address
- Your National Insurance number
- A passport-sized photograph
- Copies of relevant qualifications and/or evidence of work experience
- A declaration of the category for the individual making the application
- First-time applicants will also be required to provide an acceptable form of photographic identification e.g. a passport or driving licence
