Meet the tutor - Nick Stafford

13 Feb 2025

Throughout National Apprenticeship Week we’ll be shining the spotlight on some of our tutors who lead our apprenticeship training.

Nick Stafford has worked as a tutor at OEA for four years and teaches plumbing, gas and renewables. He shares why he enjoys teaching and why OEA was the perfect match to his philosophy.

What did you do before teaching at OEA?

I was a course leader teaching level 3 plumbing NVQ

What motivated you to move into teaching?

Teaching gave me an opportunity to develop a new career based around the industry skills and knowledge I already possessed.

Why OEA?

Choosing to become a tutor at OEA was driven by a passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives. OEA's commitment to providing high-quality, personalised learning experiences aligns perfectly with my own philosophy.

What do you enjoy about teaching?

My learners are quite diverse! They can be apprentices, industry professionals, or anyone curious and eager to learn. Helping students understand difficult concepts and seeing their progress can be very fulfilling.

How would your past students describe you in three words?

Supportive, knowledgeable, and approachable.

Outside of teaching what do you enjoy doing?

I like taking on new challenges, currently learning to fly and work on gliders

Favourite places to go?

Anywhere where there is some warm weather!
