Green energy systems are the future and there is a growing demand for renewable engineers to deliver on the UK's net zero commitments.

This funded Skills Bootcamp will provide you with the knowledge and qualifications you need to install, service and maintain heat pump units.

We have secured funding from Suffolk County Council to deliver our Skills Bootcamp in Heat Pumps to the trade in Norfolk and Suffolk.

The bootcamp consists of 64 guided learning hours across five qualifications, the details of which are below. Learners will achieve all five qualifications within 16 weeks. All courses run from our East Anglia site in St Ives on a regular basis so you can fit the training in to suit you.

These courses are available to book now, but we only have a limited number of funded spaces, so get in touch to discuss and reserve your place.

  • Free for self-employed
  • 90% funded for small to medium sized companies
  • 70% funded for companies with 250+ employees
  • Includes five courses that provide you with the qualifications you need to become MCS registered.

Entry requirements

  • Aged 19 or over
  • Live within Cambridge, Norfolk, or Suffolk areas
  • Level 2 plumbing qualification

Courses included

  • Low Temperature Hot Water Heating Systems

    Learn to design and install energy efficient low temperature hot water heating systems that may use heat pumps as the heat source.

    Duration: 2 days

  • Energy Efficiency (Part L)

    Provides knowledge and understanding of system layouts, controls and components and the best way to install a system to comply with Part L of the Building Regulations.

    Duration: 1 day

  • Domestic Air Source Heat Pump and Domestic Ground Source Heat Pump (Previously Heat Pump Systems / NOS Mapped)(Level 3)

    This nationally recognised qualification designed to give learners the skills and knowledge required to correctly design, install and maintain air and ground source heat pump systems.

    Duration: 3 days

  • Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems (DHWSS)

    These courses aim to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install unvented domestic hot water storage systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards.

    Duration: 1 day

  • Water Regulations & Byelaw (WRAS)

    Covers the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales) and meets the requirements of WRAS (the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme).
