Funded Heat Pump Skills Bootcamp

Green energy systems are the future and there is a growing demand for renewable engineers to deliver on the UK's net zero commitments.

Our Heat Pump Skills Bootcamp will provide you with the knowledge and understanding you need to install, service and maintain heat pump units.

Location: Oxford.

We have secured funding from Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) to deliver our Heat Pump Skills Bootcamp to the trade across Oxfordshire.

The Bootcamp comprises of 64 guided learning hours across 5 qualifications, the details of which are below. Learners will achieve all five qualifications within 16 weeks. All courses run from our Oxford site in Witney on a regular basis so you can fit the training in to suit you.

  • Includes five courses that provide you with the qualifications you need to become MCS registered

Entry requirements

Entrants will need to be:

  • Aged 19 or over
  • Live or work in Oxfordshire

Courses included

  • Low Temperature Hot Water Heating Systems

    Learn to design and install energy efficient low temperature hot water heating systems that may use heat pumps as the heat source.

    Duration: 2 days

  • Energy Efficiency (Part L)

    Provides knowledge and understanding of system layouts, controls and components and the best way to install a system to comply with Part L of the Building Regulations.

    Duration: 1 day

  • Domestic Air Source Heat Pump and Domestic Ground Source Heat Pump (Previously Heat Pump Systems / NOS Mapped)

    This nationally recognised qualification designed to give learners the skills and knowledge required to correctly design, install and maintain air and ground source heat pump systems.

    Duration: 3 days

  • Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems (DHWSS)

    These courses aim to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install unvented domestic hot water storage systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards.

    Duration: 1 day

  • Water Regulations & Byelaw (WRAS)

    Covers the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales) and meets the requirements of WRAS (the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme).

    Duration: 1 day
