OFTEC's renowned UKAS accredited registration schemes enables technicians to show their commitment to completing work that meets regional building regulations and industry best practice.
This is a practical course designed for inexperienced or beginner technicians wanting to work on domestic oil installations. The aim of each part of the course is that the candidate will reach the required standard to enable them to undertake the standard level assessments later.
Completing the course will certify that the technician has enough practical knowledge to perform the everyday tasks of a competent oil operative.

Entry requirements
Learners must have basic plumbing skills and experience.

You will need to bring with you:
- Your name and address
- Your National Insurance number
- A passport-sized photograph
- Copies of relevant qualifications and/or evidence of work experience
- A declaration of the category for the individual making the application
- First-time applicants will also be required to provide an acceptable form of photographic identification e.g. a passport or driving licence
