Information
There are four pathways to achieving this qualification, aligned to the four categories in the Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases (FGG) Regulations 2009. These cover areas such as:
- Leak checking
- Installation and maintenance of equipment
- Recovery of refrigerant
You will learn on the job in the classroom, and assessment will be through practical assignment and online multiple-choice examination.
This Level 2-Cat 1 course is ideal if you are working, or looking to work, as a refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump system engineer and have some relevant knowledge and skills, usually from a role where you've been supervised.

You will need this qualification as a licence to practise with fluorinated gases and ozone-depleting substances.
